The Angel Castro Scholarship Fund
Honoring a life dedicated to San Diego's parks and communities by investing in the next generation of park stewards.
About the Fund
About the Angel Castro Scholarship Fund
The Angel Castro Scholarship Fund was established by the San Diego Parks Foundation to honor the memory and legacy of Angel Castro, whose dedication to San Diego's parks and green spaces touched countless lives across our community.
Angel believed that access to vibrant, well-maintained parks was a right for every San Diegan, not a privilege. This scholarship carries that belief forward by supporting young people who share a commitment to parks, recreation, the environment, and public service.
Through this fund, we provide financial assistance to students pursuing education in fields that will shape the future of our parks and communities, including environmental science, recreation management, landscape architecture, urban planning, public administration, and related disciplines.
Quote / Mission Block
"Parks are where communities grow. By investing in the people who protect and nurture our green spaces, we invest in the future of San Diego itself."
The Angel Castro Scholarship Fund ensures that passionate young leaders have the resources they need to pursue careers in park stewardship, environmental conservation, and community recreation. Every dollar contributed goes directly toward student scholarships.
